BOLD PATTERN
Multiple patterns can be used in a bathroom very effectively. Often the type of pattern, frequency, shape, size of it can be found in other elements of the space in interesting ways. So if they match each other, they counter balance each other. For example black & white.
In order of those two patterns to work ‑ the marble and cupboard. They have to be equally impactful, which they are, and the designer has had to mute the colour pallete down to allow for the pattern to hero. SUBTLE PATTERN
Really clever. The terrazzo and the kit kat tiles are both busy, small reptitious patterns. They balance each other out. The designer has been clever in that they have created a a smooth colour palette to allow these patterns to work in nicely. The resulting effect is a space that is interesting as it has many elements but somehow works, and feel calm. And our reaction is wow, I want that in my house. Well at least, we do ;)

SINGLE PATTERN
This space is really clever. So the designer has gone with lots of pattern on that backlights wall. Almost enough to take over the space, so in order to balance this out, they have chosen a muted colour and allowed all of the piece in front of it to hero, by giving them stronger colours. Lights, taps, basin, styling, flowers and a beautiful natural feeling vanity. The colours all blend together beautifully and connect to the tiles but also create a stunning balance. There is a simplicity to the vanity that balances out the busy back wall. Notice they are two biggest elements and hence your eye creates a duality. Very clever. Very subtle.
One of those spaces that you say, wow there is something about it I love and I cant quite plan what it is.
